ABOUT US ~
The
Central Sericultural Germplasm Resources Centre (CSGRC) was established
in 1990 by the Central
Silk Board, Government of India. We maintain 1180 mulberry
and 443 silkworm germplasm resources.
Catalogues
are available for 928 mulberry and 431 silkworm germplasm. More than
100 descriptors in mulberry and 70 descriptors in silkworm are currently
under investigation.
This
would make CSGRC one of the largest repositories of sericultural germplasm
in the world.
We
would welcome suggestions and co-operation from scientific institutions,
environmentalists and researchers for strengthening our collection as
well as utilization of available resources.

CSGRC is located at Hosur in Tamil Nadu approximately 40 km from Bangalore.
